Good Evening beautiful people...
Firstly I'd like to start by apologising for my serious lack of posts recently, but I'm not going to go on, as I myself find it incredibly tedious reading through blogging apologies when all I'm really there for is a decent blog fix... so there we go, I'm sorry, lets move on.
As from 4th September 2014 I became a resident of a gorgeous little Devonshire town, Ilfracombe! And I must say so far it is going pretty well! Now yes I must admit at first I hated it, I was uprooted from my beautiful home town, Cheltenham, filled, not only with a full range of shops and some pretty little hangouts, but also my best friends. Leaving them behind is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. My first few days in Devon were a little shaky and multiple nights I even convinced myself that I would go back to Cheltenham and live solo. I started sixth form on the 5th, the day after I moved in... I knew one girl, Annie, from an induction day which had been held in the school that I had travelled down for in hope of shaking off the entire ''new girl'' status. I watched my own personality change in my first few days in Ilfracombe, once the confident, loud girl, who would have taken a new girl under her wing, I was now timid and quiet, attempting to figure out how the people at this new school worked. After almost a week in my new home, I got a grip of myself, how was anyone supposed to get to know me if I didn't show them the real me? I tried with all my might to burst with as much confidence as I could muster, and immediately I noticed a difference. I believe that people found me easier to approach which made my time at school 10x better and I began to enjoy my days here. What's even more suprising is that I found myself a job! Walking along the harbour one evening after school I noticed a sign in a small restaurant advertising job vacancies. I went into enquire and left with a trail for the following night, luckily I managed to get myself the job!
Now yes I do miss Cheltenham and the people there an awful lot, but going
back to visit is easy, especially since I got an 16-25 railcard (if you are between 16-25 and use train a lot I seriously recommend purchasing one of these cards to save a massive amount on rail travel) however moving away has opened up a thousand new opportunities for my family and I. I am never bored or without anything to do, from visiting my favourite cafe, to climbing hills to find the perfect view of the tide coming in, wouldn't change my new home for the world.
